شيخ الخطاطين السوريين/ ولد سنة 1894 في داريا وتوفى سنة 1967/ مؤسس المدرسة الشامية لخط التعليق/ درس علوم القرآن الكريم / تعلم الخط على يد الخط التركي يوسف رسا وانتقل بعدها إلى الخطاط الدمشقي ممدوح الشريف في الخط الكوفي والثلث والرقعة/ ثم انتقل إلى مصر وتعلم على يد الخطاط نجيب هواويني وبعدها سافر الى العراق وتعلم عند الخطاط هاشم البغدادي/ كتابة العديد من الجوامع السورية وله كتابات عديدة على جدران المجلس النيابي وعلى أبواب الدور والمتاجر والمكاتب وفي داخل المسجد النبوي الشريف في السعودية وكتب جامع في لبنان وغرفة التجارة بالكويت وكذلك كتب المئات من اللوحات الخطية ومن تلاميذه عثمان طه وأحمد الباري ويوسف رسا وزهير منيني ومحمد زرزور وإبراهيم الرفاعي وعبده الصلاحي وعبد الرزاق قصيباني/ منح وسام الاستحقاق السوري بعد وفاته كما كرمه مركز البيان الثقافي في لبنان / وإقامت مديرية الفنون الجميلة معرض في متحف دمشق الوطني للذكرى الأولى لوفاته.
The Sheikh of the Syrian Calligraphers /He was born in 1894 in Daraya and died in 1967 /He is the founder of the Shamiya School for Taliq script/ He studied the science of the Holy Qur’an/ He learned calligraphy at the hands of Turkish calligrapher Yusuf Rassa/He traveled to Iraq and learned from the calligrapher Hashim Al-Baghdadi /He designed and wrote many calligraphic decorations in Syrian mosques, and he has many writings on the walls of the Parliament house ,on doors ,houses, stores, and offices, and inside the Prophet’s Mosque in Saudi Arabia, and he designed and wrote in a mosque in Lebanon ,and in Kuwait (the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce )as well as hundreds of calligraphic art works /He has many students mentioning:Othman Taha, Ahmed Al-Bari, Youssef Rasa, Zuhair Mennini, and many more /He was awarded the Syrian Order of Merit after his death as he was honored in Lebanon by Al-Bayan Cultural Center /The Directorate of Fine Arts held an exhibition in the National Museum of Damascus for
